You can make some reliable acne treatments in your own home. From experience I can tell you that if your acne is severe, nothing is going to help except a visit to a dermatologist. No matter how much care my daughter took with her face; no matter how much healthy food she ate, her severe acne persisted. However, once we had it cleared up, it was easy to discontinue the acne medication and start using the healthy lifestyle tips and home remedies that kept her skin clear.

A great facial that you can make in your kitchen is: Coconut Facial

Puree some coconut and apply it to your face for about 10 minutes at a time. Coconut Oil is great for your hair, skin, and diet. It makes a great moisturizer. It’s a great addition to your aging skin care routine. It does not work as well in the winter time though. It seems in winter, we need something a little stronger.

Another little facial tip is to use egg whites whipped. Leave it on for 20 to 30 minutes.

These are worth a try they can be very effective for some people, it’s easy to do and very inexpensive. No one thing will work for everyone. A dermatologist can prescribe a strong treatment like Differinâ„¢. Do this as a last resort as prescription acne treatments can have unpleasant side effects and can be expensive.

Make sure you’re eating fruits and dark leafy vegetables and drinking plenty of water. Wash your hands often and avoid touching your face. Get at least ½ hour of exercise each day and get 7 to 8 hours of sleep each night. Once you are doing these things, your acne symptoms should improve and your acne treatment will have a better chance of success.

Tea Tree Oil will treat the symptoms of acne. Apple Cider Vinegar is a good antioxidant. Acne is caused by excess oil on the skin. Apple Cider Vinegar, as an antioxidant, can actually help heal your acne. If the home remedies aren’t working for you, find a product that has antioxidants and/or OIC Acid ingredients. There are inexpensive skin care products available that work very well; AcneFree is one that is very popular. If you decide to use benzoyl peroxide, keep in mind that this may be extremely drying to your skin, perhaps even leaving it red and splotchy. Benzoyl peroxide can be found in face wash, bar soap, topical cream, or gel form.

One thing that you’ll notice as you try home remedies is that it takes longer to achieve results. You will need to be patient about it. The results you are expecting to have may take two or three weeks after beginning the home remedy.

Some acne care products contain salicylic acid. It’s an ingredient that is sometimes added to skin care products that treat acne. It can be found in facial washes or facial pads. This can be very helpful with unclogging your pores and preventing acne. This ingredient can also be extremely drying to the skin.

Try products that contain OIC Acid and/or Antioxidants. Green Tea Extract is a fantastic antioxidant. OIC Acid is a great anti-inflammatory. Learn your ingredients, and what they do. No one product will work for everyone.
