If blackheads and blemishes are getting you down, this simple DIY acne mask recipe that includes just two ingredients is for you! This fabulous homemade acne face mask recipe will unclog your pores as well as draw impurities out of your skin!
A bentonite mask can: draw impurities and toxins out of skin, heal and rengenerate skin tissue, unclog and reduce the look of pores, exfoliate, prevent blackheads, treat acne, even out skin tone and leave skin feeling soft and glowing.
If you don’t already have apple cider vinegar on hand and need to pick some up (it’s super inexpensive), finding one that is 100% natural and NOT made with apple juice concentrates will give you the best results.
You’ll want to mix equal parts bentonite clay and apple cider vinegar together, I used 2 tablespoons of each; this will create a nice, thick acne face mask. You’ll want to leave the face mask on your face for 10 to 20 minutes. If you have sensitive skin, stick to the shorter timeframe. To be on the safe side, it may be best to start with 10 minutes and work your way up to 20 if you enjoy the results. This acne face mask did leave my face a bit red at the very top of my forehead, but it wasn’t bothersome and the redness faded within 20 minutes.
This DIY acne face mask mask has an almost frothy texture that went on like a mousse and felt quite nice. The vinegar smell wasn’t nearly as intense as I had feared, and after a couple minutes wasn’t even noticeable.
It completely slipped my mind that you aren’t supposed to use metal of any kind (dishes or utensils) when using bentonite clay. That isn’t a mistake I’ve made in the past, so I’m not sure if the bubbling you see in the mixing image is the reaction to combining the vinegar and clay-or the clay interacting with the metal. Either way, this DIY acne mask felt great, and next time I’ll remember not to do that!
